CSV import is the fastest way to start analyzing. This guide covers the concept and stays high level.
What happens when you import
- You export work order data from your upstream system as CSV files.
- You upload the files to WorkOrderGuard in the app.
- WorkOrderGuard normalizes the data using your account's mappings — see Mappings and normalization.
- The imported data becomes available to analysis runs.
Tips for a smooth import
- Include as much of the work order lifecycle as your export allows — status, dates, provider, cost, and description all help analysis.
- Prefer one import per source system or site so that mapping problems are easy to isolate.
- Review the mapping decisions after your first import; good mappings improve every later analysis.
