WorkOrderGuard
Getting started

Core concepts

The small set of ideas WorkOrderGuard is organized around.

WorkOrderGuard uses a handful of core concepts. Once these are clear, the rest of the product follows naturally.

Work orders

A work order is a unit of maintenance or service work, imported from your upstream system. WorkOrderGuard stores a normalized copy: source-specific labels are mapped to shared vocabularies so that analysis works the same way regardless of where the data came from.

Providers and trades

A provider is an external company that performs work. A trade is the kind of work being performed, such as electrical or plumbing. Your account keeps its own canonical trade catalogue, and imported trade labels are mapped onto it.

Analysis runs

An analysis run applies a set of rules to your imported work orders and produces findings. Runs are repeatable: as new data arrives, you run analysis again to keep findings current.

Findings

A finding is a specific inefficiency identified in your data — for example, duplicated work, over-servicing, or poorly scoped work orders. Findings carry an estimated impact so you can prioritize what to act on first.

Cases

A case presents a detected issue together with the work orders it affects, so you can review and act on the issue as a unit. See Cases.
